TIME - My Healer ???

They say time is a self healer to many things. I sometimes sit back and think why does time has so much power to heal something and why do we have to wait for the time to cross by for our healing?
I never understood the exact meaning because i always thought each individual is different and has different needs depending on what they perceive the world to be, their healing periods can vary too from a few days to a few months to a few years or forever. Then how come people say each other time will heal everything. Let time pass by and everything will settle.

It is true that every action in nature is subject to certain laws which explains that its disturbance period will settle within a certain period of time. So yes partially true that every disturbance does settle after a certain time period. But the problem is to bring that time period within a human lifespan frame. For eg. disturbance caused by a pebble in water lasts for a few seconds , disturbance of a big boulder in water lasts up to few minutes , disturbances like volcanoes fire etc can last up to few days and disturbances in universe last up to many light years. All these are disturbances of different nature dependent on few laws which are explicable of time of settlement.

But human emotions ? they are not subjected to natural laws , they are subjected to treatment. Healing through any hurt, pain or sadness is through the memories of an individual. When an individual has nothing else to do than to repent on the same loss over and over again the period of healing extends, it is like RELIVING the same pain every time you think of it.

Time is nothing but a collection of memories over a human lifespan. Memories over one another overshadow older memories and bring live colours to the newer one's and that is how the healing process works faster. Time cannot be subjected to someone's healing untill the person is interested in overcoming the pain. Time cannot heal me, my thoughts will. The more i let my senses grasp things different from the older pain , more the healing time will reduce. May be that is why God has given us a living machine(body) for whose needs we need to keep working and keep forgetting our past.
Time is merely an ageing process physically but it cannot be my healer untill i want it to be.

So next time someone tells me Time will heal me ... I'd say no I WOULD.

I am with you shreya dear. This article has a very profound meaning. Time might stand still but it is definitely not a healer. Ultimately We have to make a CHOICE:)to leave the past behind and move on in life - hang on to the pleasant memories and make a conscious effort to forget the hurting ones.

Shreya said...

Yes Nirmala :) time does stand still if don't let it move on. That is why our memories are timeless because you can hold on to them as long as you want and let go off them when you want. So ultimately letting go off the pain and hurts is our Choice again :)

Thanks for commenting dear :)

agree..we may move on..bt can never forget..esp more so depends on how the situation exactly made u feel !!

Shreya said...

Agreed too bhumika :) we cannot force the memory to forget but at least we can stop recreating the pain for ourselves. Because everytime you create a thought related to that situation you relive all the negative emotions that you had felt then. So you create pain even when long time has elapsed .... which means creating pain is in our hands , time has nothing to do with that. It reduces intensity because many memories overlap one another but if you create the older hurt again everything will seem fresh.

To be honest even that we can overcome through forgiveness. Well i'd write about that in another article. For now just this understanding should work :).
Thanks for your comment dear.

You need to improve your English writing skills-

Some of the errors:

1)Why does time HAS so much power...
Correction: Why does time HAVE...

2) Then how come people SAY EACH OTHER...
Correction: Then how come people SAY TO each other / TELL each other...

3)Certain laws which EXPLAINS that...
Correction: Certain laws which EXPLAIN that...

These were just a few, there are many more!

Please do something about this as people actually read your blog...

I am not criticizing.. i'm just helping out :)

Just focus on your grammar rather that the "big words" coz if you mess up the grammar , the whole article will look like the work of a 10th standard student who has been given a writing task on Time - My Healer!

Please don't (I know you wont) post this comment.. its just my feedback.. you have great potential!

Hii Salman Khan... I agree i have made terrible mistakes in the post. I aint that good with it i guess :). Nevertheless thank you so much for the pain you took to write so much in detail about them.
Thank you so much next time i write an article i'd make sure i correct as many grammatical mistakes as possible.

I ain't deleting or changing what i have already written because that should remind me of my mistakes. :)

Thanks again i would take care of them next article onwards.
Please keep posting your comments.

hmm..Depends on what you' have lost.
Sometimes passing time.. makes things harder. Makes one feel miserable.
Sometimes it only eases the pain,
it can't completely heal.
But that's just my opinion.
Nice article Shreya, i enjoyed reading it.

@Raz... hii :) true depends on what you have lost time does increase pain but my point is just that to over come one's pain which has filled a part of our memories one has to add more thoughts and memories over time. no doing anything during a long length of time will only aggravate the pain. So time cannot be the only factor relieving from pain. An individual has to make conscious decision for this.

Thanks for posting your comment Raz :)

@NIA... Absolutely :) it depends more on the will power of a person to heal or not time cannot do anything if a person does not wish to. Ya partly we all wait for something more important to happen kind of bigger than before situation types so that we can let go of the past but the fact is that we become so immersed in our expectations of future situation that we miss what is happening at present. And i think that is where we go wrong we expect way too much than life can offer so it upsets us when nothing so gr8 happens to us.
:) Thanks for your lovely comments :)

time cannot heal...i knw..for me its forever..evrday..evryhour...i re-live the same pain.phaps..one day i shall forget..who knows

Shreya said...

@mona ... i agree with you, time does not heal and it will never because it wasn't the cause of pain we ourselves were. We created pain and increased it because of our expectations to forget we have to learn to forgive and the 1st person to be forgiven is self. Remember gone episodes will never come back so re creating them will always give me pain and nothing else.

Thanks for your comment. :)
