Grandparents past and present

I love chatting with my Grandpa(naanaji) he has always been a very scientific man and talking with him at any point of time is very much a pleasure :) we discuss anything under the sun from physics to genetics, from history to huts, from food to fatigue anything. Many young men and women of todays generation are deprived of this feeling may be because they donot find a platform to talk or discuss things or may be because when they sit down to talk they dont have a common topic on which their opinions are same.

Its not always that easy to talk to him without bringing the past and present comparision. Just today i had a chat with my Grandfather who felt sad on the thought that today no one cares about old things , new generation does not value a thing of the past and that religious things which were done for a particular meaning in the past are now done in ostentate & meaningless fashion. I knew where the track was going and i knew within a few seconds he'd recall everything of the past and be upset about it for another 1 hr after the phone call. This is something that frightens us or disturbs us while talking to elders because we know we want to explain and we do have an explaination but someho cannot convince them. So to avoid this we avoid interacting at all.

Every man and woman in this world has a right to have different opinions. Comparision of the past and present is inevitable. Neither past nor present is completely correct, we live in a frame of time where past merges with present every second. As the concept of time machine in physics said to view the past you have to catch the reflected light of the present that spreads into the universe and replay it.. similarly every action that we do now Right NOW is as much past as actions done a day ago or 100 days ago because they cannot be repeated in exact fashion in that exact frame of time. :) So there is no difference between past and present it is the same only the duration shorter or longer makes us say its past and its presnt. (oops !! That was too much physics & philosophy :P i'd come back to some normal language)

What i wanted to say is we cannot push our grandparents to understanding that they were past and we are present. Instead we should accept the difference that they are stateing and expand our vision to see why they hold that difference. In my case i asked him a number of questions as to why he felt reading religious books and saving the past was important. His actions directed me to the feeling that "the old has knowledge and experience that is capable of keeping the young safe and happy, the old wants to save us and the young avoids that". This non transfer of valuable knowledge perturbed him & not the non following of rituals which intially seemed to be the situation . :) So calmly i was able to explain him my way, which did not get into the hussels and bussels of rituals rather it was good talk about knowledge transfer from old to young. He calmed down and i knew he wont think about it later on.

Avoiding this situation could have been easier to avoid the friction but it would have also kept me unaware of the feelings that an elderly goes through that even i would go through sometime later on, it would have kept me unaware of the happiness that i felt after solving his thoughts and it would have kept me unaware from a Learning today that past and present is lovely there honestly is no difference in them but only in our thoughts.

Please dont ignore Grandparents they are a lovely blessing to us. You need not heed to every word they say but you can slowly learn to explain things to them if you really see why and for whom they say things.

adios :)

An Year withdraws....A New begins

New Year is around the corner and its a fresh new year 2011 to begin with :)

I am not keeping any resolutions for me new year is not a time for resolutions ...because i have always believed that an year is a long long time to renew and review yourself. For everytime you do an action the reactions are spontaneous then why wait for one whole year and bring new resolutions ?

For me New year is the time when i review what i have learned all through the year because only an year is a long time that gives you a broader view of smaller happenings. I personally prefer to go to bed every night with a small recap of my daily actions to know what and where i have been wrong, to recall when my action, when my words, when my intentions went wrong and what i could have done in its place. But at the end of the year i know God's vision is mightier than anything and everything.

A few learning that i have from this year:
  • I have learned that an hurried work is necessarily not perfect. And a perfect work is of no use if not done on time.
  • I have learned that every time what you desire for might not be the best for you even though it may look like the best at that moment.
  • I have learned that there has to be someone in your life who should know what you really need and who you really are, because we often forget about ourselves.
  • I have learned that distance is only physical, love is eternal and it has to be there forever. If souls connect everything else falls into place.
  • I have learned that relationships have a deeper meaning than what is seen superficially.
  • I have learned that work has greater meaning than money. Money can buy you everybody but it stays with nobody.
  • I have learned that life's charm is in the tiniest and the biggest things we do. Mediocre acts fall on neither side.
  • I have learned that my happiness is with my loved ones and i am incomplete without them.
  • I have learned that my anger is not really my anger its my care and to be true very people understand it.
  • I have learned that God knows what is best for me and he will hold my hand safely even if i act stubborn.
  • I have learned that my trust on God has increased several folds i find him the reason for everything.
  • I have learned that true friends do not really need to know everything, they just be there for everything.
  • I have learned that getting upset on anyone else other than self is nothing but folly. NO ONE no one other than your own self can give anyone a chance to make you upset.
  • I have learned that trusting the right ones is the most essential. Rest all can do without you.
  • I have learned that  i am happy only because i have a happy safe and smiling set of family and friends.
  • At the end of everything there is always a Happy beginning If you Really want it desperately want it. It will walk straight up to you.
Thank you God for being with me and guiding me every second. :)
Always be with me :) Come new year or not be with me....

Unconditional Love

Thought of sharing a forwarded mail with you all ashort story quiet again an emphasis on relations and love shared read it you might like it :)

*****************

Some time ago, a friend of mine punished his 4 year old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the small child tried to decorate a box to put under the tree. Nevertheless the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said " This is for you Daddy."

He was embarrassed by his earlier over reaction... He opened the box and his anger flared again when he found the box was empty.

Then he yelled at her:
DON'T YOU KNOW when you give someone a present there's supposed to be something inside of it???

The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said,

Oh Daddy it's not empty, I blew kisses into the box , all for you Daddy.

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged her for forgiveness. My friend told me that he kept that gold box near his bed for years.

Whenever he was discouraged he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there. In a very real sense each of us has been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses.
**************************************

*Unconditional Love doesnt often demand anything from you it will never ask you anything.

**No guarantee is kept for the trust placed its mutual. Forgiveness and acceptance is the 1st rule you cant love if cant do either of them.

***It Often will not be able to decorate its love but would do something so unique would make you wonder there's nothing better you could have expected.

**** Love is quiet and that is when it speaks volume. Loved one's will never speak of what sacrifices they can make for you, will rather make sure that for them YOU NEVER COMPROMISE ON YOUR HAPPINESS :)

***** Its beauty is to be in heart bz you trust the loved one so much you trust they will never give you a heart attack.

****** You are most vulnerable in front of them yet you feel secure in their company.

******* Your love might stand far away from you,esp when the world flocks around you....you might be the center of attraction for others but for your loved ones you are just their world...

Unconditional love is bondless yet visible to the two who love each other. World needs language they dont. Its just their presence that makes you feel happy. So, There is no more precious possession anyone could hold. ITS PRICELESS...

adios :)
